Job description
What you’ll do
As a Network Engineer, you are responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of our network infrastructure, as well as conveying network configurations to customers.
You design, implement, and maintain our network systems to ensure high availability, stability, and security. This includes configuring and managing V-LANs to segment network traffic efficiently, and testing and deploying network solutions such as switches, routers, and VPN connections. Your role involves close collaboration with our Engineering and Operations teams to ensure that the network infrastructure meets the evolving requirements of our organization.
Your strong understanding of the network stack, specifically the TCP/IP model, will enable you to make informed decisions. You troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. This includes monitoring network performance, analyzing network traffic, and optimizing network resources to maintain a seamless and efficient operation. You implement and enforce robust network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Additionally, you are responsible for configuring and managing PAM, Moxa switches and Robustel routers.
Meticulous documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures will be essential to maintaining clarity and efficiency across the team. This documentation will support the ongoing maintenance and scaling of our network infrastructure, ensuring that our systems remain resilient and responsive to the needs of our business.
Qualifications
Who are you?Honestly, we don't even need to spell out this role for you. You live it and breathe it. To thrive in this team, it's important to take ownership of our networks. With strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems, you are passionate about network technologies.
In addition, you:
- Are a resident of The Netherlands and have a permanent work permit (we do not sponsor visas nor relocations).
- Have at least 3 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role, with practical experience in configuring and managing V-LANs to segment network traffic efficiently.
- Possess a solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, network security, routing, and switching
- Are proficient in testing, deploying, and managing switches, routers, and VPN connections.
- Have knowledge of cloud networking on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Nice to have: familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages like Python and Ansible.
