Job description
As a
Field Engineer Team Lead, you'll manage and mentor a team of skilled Field Engineers and you'll guide them in setting up and fine-tunning hardware and software across our product stack in both offshore oil and gas drilling platforms and vessels and the renewable energy sector.
This is your chance to work hands-on in a high-tech, offshore environment while shaping and leading a dynamic team.
In addition to managing the team and developing best practices, you will be hands on for a limited amount of projects. This means that you might help set up and configure IP networks, CCTV systems, and software applications to ensure seamless connectivity and deployment for our customers. This could include the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) process by overseeing preparation and quality standards while providing technical expertise. You will manage team-related updates, address challenges, and ensure project milestones are met. Additionally, you will develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, to ensure processes are clear and accessible to both internal teams and clients.
To ensure success, you:
- Work with the team and project managers to assign project tasks
- Manage team of field engineers and network engineers, across all product lines
- Engage with team leads from other departments to align on expectations and mutual dependencies (and planning)
- Oversee and manage the resource planning for your team – you align closely with the project managers on this
- Report about technical hurdles and help mitigate any (upcoming) issues
- Work with the team to help expedite implementation timelines and set up best practices.
- Create and maintain implementation templates and innovate on way of working
Qualifications

If you are not an expert yet, you are planning to become one and you:
- Are a resident of The Netherlands and have a permanent work permit (we do not sponsor visas nor relocations).
- Have a technical degree such as control systems engineer/technician, electrical engineer/technician, instrumentation engineer/technician or equivalent.
- Have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Ideally, you have at least 3 years of hands-on experience and proven knowledge of Linux configurations, troubleshooting methodologies as well as in creating technical documentation and testing set-ups so that you are able to take on operating system installations and hardware network configurations to documentation, application deployment, and rigorous testing procedures.
- Have exceptional English communication and people skills, adept at conveying complex technical information to both tech and non-tech stakeholders.
- Are willing to travel abroad and visit offshore locations.
