Why this Role Matters

Helin deploys IoT solutions across 150+ solar, geothermal, and maritime sites today. That number doubles to 300+ within two years. Manual, one-off deployments won't scale. The team needs standardized processes, partner enablement, and a shift from hands-on delivery to platform-driven implementation.

This is a first-line management role. As Team Lead Implementation Engineer, you'll own the implementation engineering team and report to the Director of Operations. Your KPI is reliable, on-time deployments at scale with consistent data integrity across all sites.

You'll lead the transition from manual site-by-site configuration to scalable, partner-enabled, AI-assisted implementation processes.

What You'll Achieve

Build and lead the implementation engineering team. Define working methods, assign projects, and develop your engineers.
Scale deployments from 150 to 300+ sites across solar, geothermal, and maritime clients within two years.
Standardize implementation processes, soexternal partners can deliver consistently without constant Helin oversight.
Drive the platform shift: move from manual configuration to AI-assisted, repeatable deployment workflows.
Own data integrity across edge-to-cloud pipelines. Ensure every site streams reliable, standardized data into the Helin platform.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support to improve deployment tools and close gaps between field reality and platform capabilities.

What You Bring

3+ years leading or managing a technical team in industrial IoT, edge computing, or industrial automation. Direct reports, not just project coordination.
Strong understanding of edge-to-cloud architectures: sensors, gateways, data pipelines, and cloud platforms. You guide your team technically, not just administratively.
Experience standardizing and documenting deployment processes that others (including external partners) can follow independently.
Familiarity with Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and industrial protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus). You don't need to be the deepest expert, but you need to evaluate your team's work credibly.
Track record of developing engineers: coaching, feedback, performance management, and career growth conversations.
Excellent English communication across a team of 35+ nationalities. You explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
Based in the Netherlands with authorization to work. Visa sponsorship available for candidates already residing in the Netherlands.

Nice to Have

Experience enabling or managing external implementation partners.
Background in renewable energy, maritime, or offshore operations.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or scripting (Python, Bash) for deployment automation.
Understanding of vision AI, camera systems, or cybersecurity in industrial contexts.

Location: Rijswijk, Netherlands (hybrid: 3 days in office per week)
Travel: Approximately 10-15% (client sites in the Netherlands and Europe)
Learning budget: EUR 3,000 annual budget for conferences and training
